Made in the OBX
We wanted to make it easy to shop locally by bringing together under one roof a wide variety of local artisans and purveyors and selecting a business name so obvious that there could be no doubt that everything inside is made in the Outer Banks.
We wanted a different kind of business model that would truly support local businesses by buying the merchandise upfront in the off season as well as in season. We also wanted to tell the artists’ stories so that customers can get to know these incredible artisans as we have gotten to know them. We wanted to support local charities with our business by committing to end-of-year donations of 1% of our net profit. Finally, we wanted to “walk the walk” and use local businesses whenever possible for all of the store furnishings, services such as printing, and routine purchases for the store.
Gift sets that combine the work of our artists as well as many of our products are available at online for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, housewarmings, weddings, baby showers, and virtually any other occasion. We believe that nothing tells the story of a place better than locally made food and art. More than 100 artists and purveyors begin to tell the story of the Outer Banks here at Made in the OBX. Come see for yourself!
